Despite all my best investigative efforts, the origins of this striking 7ft 3" credenza remain a complete mystery to me. I have never seen one like it before, and my research has turned up no information whatsoever to help me identify and credit the maker. One thing for sure though, it is a truly exceptional, one of a kind piece.

Not only lush to look at, it displays a level of craftsmanship parallel to (or perhaps even exceeding) any of the acclaimed British makers of the the time. The drawers have been constructed using solid oak (this I have never seen before!) fronted with solid teak, with equisite dovetail joints. There are three drawers on each side; the top two on the left are baize-lined with solid oak dividers, and both bottom drawers are double depth for maximum storage. The vast central cupboard has a height adjustable solid teak shelf shaped to a delicious curve, with a unique brass bracket system inlaid at each side. There is also a tray-shaped drawer concealed beneath the top surface.

I simply cannot do this piece justice using just five photographs, so please do get in touch should you wish to see more! Please also read on through the 'RETRO' section below, for more information regarding the condition of this beautiful piece.

RETRO
This fabulous credenza has been sensitively cleaned and revived for sale, but please remember, it is a preloved vintage piece - expect characterful imperfections commensurate with age and use and not a fully restored / factory modern finish.
It has clearly been very well looked after over the years and remains in lovely original condition overall, with only minor blemishes and imperfections, as to be expected. The top and side surfaces have a beautiful grain; there is some colour variation, some faint marking and the occasional minor scratch/nick, as to be expected with age, but no major issues to speak of. There is a more obvious scratch on the left side panel. The frontage is in lovely original condition, with occasional marking / minor scratches only visable on close inspection. The interior remains in lovely condition, with no major marking or damage. The drawers all run smoothly, however they are made of solid oak and are heavy! - so will require both hands to open. The original green baize remains in great condition inside the two top left drawers. All the original catches, hinges, shelf brackets etc work exactly as they should. There is one small damaged section on the leg base, not immediately obvious.

Please do get in touch should you require any more details/information at all. Additional photographs also available by request.
