The Windsor dining collection was imagined by Ercol's founder Lucian Ercolani during the late 1950's, and is still in production to this day. Model 455 sideboards were manufactured during the 1960's, and have become highly collectable in recent years.
Built to exacting standards in solid elm with a veneered elm backboard, this piece has a simply stunning figured grain, more complex and mesmorising than any I have seen. Tremendous craftsmanship is apparent throughout, from the tactile curved edges to the exposed dovetail jointing and iconic oval inset handles. It is in near perfect condition throughout.
Not only stunning to look at, it also provides ample storage, with three deep drawers at the centre flanked by two large cupboards with height-adjustable shelving. The top drawer has a removeable solid elm cutlery compartment. The base is fitted with original shepherds casters, so although the piece is extremely heavy, it is very easy to manoevre.
For a courier quote, please send me a message with your full postcode, before you buy - the cost will vary, depending on your location.
I work with several specialist couriers, whom I trust fully with my furniture, and my customers! They work to specific routes across the UK, so a degree of flexibility with delivery dates and times will be required. They will keep you fully informed with a time slot in advance and a more accurate ETA on your delivery day. Assistance may be required with lifting.
Alternatively, but entirely at your own risk, you are welcome to arrange your own courier collection from me in Brighton.
My items are very carefully restored and restyled, with every attention to detail. But remember, they are hand-finished, preloved vintage pieces - please expect characterful imperfections and not a factory modern finish.
Please note, I cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused to your piece, once it is in your care.
