This beautifully crafted compact sideboard was produced by Herbert E Gibbs of London during the 1960's. It has been lovingly restyled using Coal Black Fusion Mineral Paint throughout, with the bevelled surround and sculpted handles finished in brilliant gold. The drawers have been lined with Divine Savages stunning Mystique Faunacation paper and sealed for protection - the top drawer is partioned for cutlery. The left cupboard has one shelf - on the right, the shelf has been removed to enable storage of taller items (perfect for bottles!).
For a courier quote, please send me a message with your full postcode, before you buy. Courier costs vary, depending on the size of the piece and delivery location. Alternatively, and at your own risk, you are welcome to arrange your own courier collection from me in Brighton.
• Covid update:
Deliveries are currently permitted and courier companies are still operating, working to strict Government and public health guidelines, which will mean that they can only deliver to your doorstep, driveway or the pavement outside your home (having collected from me in the same way). If you are unable to or would rather not accept deliveries at this time, I would be more than happy to store your piece until current restrictions have been lifted and it is safer to do so. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to talk any of this through further •
My items are all very carefully restored with every attention to detail. But remember, they are hand-finished preloved vintage pieces, so please expect characterful imperfections. This piece is in fabulous, newly refinished condition throughout. Please note, the drawers fit tightly to the frame - perfectly useable but not modern smooth-running!
CARING FOR YOUR PIECE
I prefer to use Fusion Mineral Paint where possible, a specialist furniture paint with an environmentally conscious formulation and virtually zero VOCs. It has a highly durable and wipeable finish - but as with any hand painted/refinished item, it will be important to treat your piece with extra care, to keep it looking lovely for years to come. Painted surfaces can be used gently after only 48 hours of drying time, however please allow a period of 21 days for the paint to fully cure before placing heavier items on top. Use a soft cloth to dust, dampened with clean water if necessary; do not use furniture polish or any abrasive cleaning products on the painted surfaces. Wipe away any spillages promptly. Ensure any items placed on to the surfaces are clean and not sticky underneath, and use mats and coasters where possible.
Please note, I cannot accept responsibility for any damage caused to your piece, once it is in your care.
